Ex Lapidus Gemstones is the creation of Christopher Bork.  Chris' interest in gems and minerals began at an early age. Always intrigued by how skilled artisans could transform seemingly plain stones into incredible pieces of art and beauty, Chris took up faceting to further pursue his passion.  He has gone on to become a certified USFG Master Faceter, and has received awards in several regional and international faceting competitions.

Chris' style combines traditional flat facet cutting techniques with unique modern designs.  He places an emphasis on high optical performance to enhance the brilliance and color of each gemstone.  Chris' philosophy on faceting is that the cutter has an obligation to produce gems that are worthy of the effort nature put into creating them.  As such, he strives for excellence in every gem he cuts.
